It stated that Thomas Kilgore Jr (md Phoebe Lea) was the s/o Thomas Kilgore died 1822 Robertson Co TN whose brothers were listed as Charles, William & Ralph and that their father unnamed (but apparently not named Thomas) had come to MD or PA some 200 years before 1858. I think that time frame of 200 years is subjective. We now know from DNA evidence that William Kilgore died Augusta Co GA is closely associated with Charles Kilgore died 1823. No male descendant of Thomas Kilgore died 1822 has yet submitted DNA. The letter also stated that it was Thomas Kilgore Jr died 1857 Columbia Co AR who "lost a brother at King's Mountain fighting alongside him". I suspect this may have been the Hiram listed by G. W. Kilgore. I think that whatever Judge G. W. Kilgore found, it was a mangle version of either this letter or info submitted to a local genealogy book by a des! cendant of Thomas Kilgore. DNA evidence also seems to point to Thomas Kilgore of Cecil Co MD (married Rebecca Lasley) as sharing a grandfather with Charles Kilgore or possibly a great-grandfather. I now suspect that Thomas Kilgore of MD may have been a brother of the Robert Kilgore of 1755 tax list whom I believe was the f/o Charles died 1823 Greene Co TN, Thomas died 1822 Robertson Co TN and William & Ralph Kilgore died before 1800 Augusta District GA. Note: Robert Kilgore (died 1782) not mentioned by Gabriel Lea Kilgore and Thomas Kilgore not mentioned by Judge G. W. Kilgore as one of the"5 brothers".
