How do I sign up? My Kilgores are on the maternal side via Robin's daughter Nancy (7/15/1799-2/4/1891)-my 3g grandmother. Unfortunately Kilgores are not in my MtDNA line. My MtDNA results did however confirm my Gilliam/Stidham roots back to the mid 1750's. Facebook has an excellent group, "Echoes From the Past" ,managed by a 5g grandson of Robin. This group has at least 5-10 descendants of Robin. I'll try to figure out how to post a plea for YDNA and MtDNA testing. The descendants include @ least 2 descendants of Robin's daughters; Susannah (m Peter Bays) & Nancy (m David Alley). MtDNA tests of mother-mother-mother descendants of Robin's daughters COULD provide confirmation of paper trails back to Jane/Jean Porter. Similarly MtDNA tests of Robin's sister's maternal descendants COULD provide confirmation of paper trails back to at-least Winnie. I say "could" because it's contingent on building a good data base. Along with my facebook plea, I'll also post on the Scott Co genforum & Sullivan Co, TN genforum where so many Scott Co. cousins migrated in the early 30's for jobs in Kingsport, the "City of Industry". Jack We need to talk. I tried to send some family trees to you but was rejected. What is your email address? My wife is descended from Nancy Kilgore 1799, The Hutchinson's The Alley's. Porter, Green and others. My Father-in-law spent a long time in Scott Co getting ancestral data, and stories. I could also give you an invite to our tree if you wish.
