I've been tracking over the years the selfless contributions of Vickie, John, Gail, & Jerry-- just to mention a few. I've tentatively placed Robert II (c1735) my 5ggrandfather, Charles (c1740), William ( ?? ) & Hiram (c1740) as "Probables" with James ( ?? ) & Thomas (husband of Lydia ?) as "Possibles" of six brothers. Using Jerry's naming customs, if Thomas was the oldest son, then I would put an elder Thomas (P) as one candidate for father of the brothers. A second candidate could be the Robert (P) who shows up in the 1755 Orange Co. tax list & may have been the one recommended to be exempt from public taxes in Orange Co. in May 1765. You all have come a long way in the last 10 or so years, correcting Judge Kilgore's writings & now putting DNA to work to maybe move that brick wall back a little bit. This octogenarian thanks you for your truly pioneering work. Any corrections/additions to my interpretations would be appreciated Jack R.
