On the other hand, there is proof that the early Kilgours (in late 1400s and early 1500s) were witnesses to Charters issued in the name of James IV. There is evidence that George the First, Third Lord Seton, had a bastard son called James, who had a grandson Thomas, who was a priest in Falkland, at about the right dates. Remeber, all Kilgours come from the same root, and the association with the name is historic...i.e. Falkland's ancient name was Kilgour, as was the ancient church on the same site.
