At the time it seemed to be a waste, when there were no matches at the 25 or 37 marker for this group (Cumberland Gap), especially when I am searching for my kinfolk and have been at a roadblock for over 20 years. . . For me, or I should say my brother, there are well over a thousand exact matches at the 12 marker when the entire database is searched on the FTDNA site, but I thought this was the case with most of those who test. However, there are no matches past that for me in this particular group (Cumberland Gap) and I figured I should concentrate on those who are a closer match from the 25 marker on. . .then see about matches within other groups.
