Born in Kentucky on August 19, 1924 to Jesse David and Stella (McGuire) Kilgore, he married the former Dorothy Noggle on February 16, 1949 and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers and three sisters. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served his country during World War II earning the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Clusters. After leaving the service he became a welder and worked for both Rockwell and Marion Power Shovel. Thomas was a member of V.F.W. Post #3333 and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his son, Thomas "Michael" Kilgore and wife Polly; his daughter, Beverly Cox; three grandchildren, Christy L. Crissinger, David A. Kilgore, and Jennifer E. Milam. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery where military rites will be observed by the Marion, Ohio County Joint Veteran's Council. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and expressions of sympathy may be sent directly to his family by logging onto www.hughesallen.com and opening his obituary.
