According to "South Carolina Indians, Indian Traders & Other Ethnic Connections Beginning in 1670" by Hicks an Indian trader named James Adair had a son named John Adair who married (1) Ga-ho-ga and (2) Jennie Kilgore (an Indian). It gives no dates; however James was actively trading as early as 1743. It states that he traded with Western Cherokees in Tenness and also with Catawbas in 1743. After his return from London in 1775, he settled in North Carolina. James died in Robeson Co (?? I didn't copy this page) in 1780. So his son, John Adair would have been born at least anytime between 1743 and 1780.
