Dear Kilgore Family, I was not going to share any of this, but it may help solve some mystery in a family line. I got my Grandfather's (William Joseph Kilgore) war file which was about a foot thick. What I found out was not what I expected. I can't share this all on the Internet, but there was a skeleton in our closet. I was feeling bad I even started this genealogy. What I wanted to do was to help my last living uncle (88) know more about his Dad. What I found was that he may have been a war hero, but he was not a hero to his family. That's really all I can share but, I feel bad about what I discovered & was going to keep it a secret, but I now know why there are brick walls. Brick walls are secrets. I really don't want to share negative things, but I believe my Grandfather was kicked out or disowned from his family. His father could be Joseph Kilgore that is buried in Marion/Grant County Indiana. His Mother could be Mary E.(lst wife) brothers/sister. Ervin/Emerson/Elmira/John ??. This is not anything proven as yet. Still putting pieces together.Just a possibility. He also may have other children on the west coast. I guess I need to take the good with the bad, but I never wanted to hurt anybody with what I discover. Carolyn
