    2. Hi cousin Paige and all my cousins, Paige, you may already have this tid-bit about Alberry Kilgore but here it is again. This file is where Margaret is applying for a pension after his death on Nov. 9, 1915. This file also states that they were married in Gwinnett Co., GA. on 1-18-1877. A. B. Kilgore (Alberry) died in Sumter Co., Fla. and Margaret is living in Lake CO., Fla. when she files this application. They have lived in FLorida since 11-25-1910 according to the application. >From the above data, you can write to the state of FLorida and get a copy of his death certificate and it will more than likely tell his parents names, including his mother's maiden name. This is normal on a death certificate. DAD-GUM IT!!!!! I was inside their computer reading this application and all of a sudden, it just kicked me out and I cannot get back into it again.... Apparently it did not like me in there!!! HEHEHEHEHEHEH!!! Lake County Florida Confederate Pension Application Files Index A04511 KILGORE Alberry B. Georgia Margaret (Pruett) 1917 09 pages By going to this URL address, you can actually see the file in it's original writing. I have browsed through this file on him and it has some tremendous info in it that you may or may not have! http://dlis.dos.state.fl.us/barm/PensionFiles.html You must use a PDF reader, like Adobe Acrobat reader to view these files. You can download Adobe Acrobat reader from the internet free................ I hope this helps your search some. Until later, good hunting, Jerry in Kingsport, TN www.Penjaccphoto.com

    3. Jerry you are such a great guy! I do have his pension file and it has a lot of info, including a copy of his marriage license, which has been very helpful. And it enabled me to verify his incarceration at Elmira Prison. It is just my snakebit kind of luck that ABK passed away in 1915, just two years before the State of Florida started issuing death certificates! I have been in touch with the Sumter County courthouse, no luck there. Now I am trying to contact the funeral homes in the area, hoping that one will have some information. Maybe the D of C will have some info, as ABK was a recipient of the Southern Cross of Honor. Today, I have been going through the Gwinnett GA 1900 Census (page by page - no index) in the hope that some clue may be found there. If any of my "cuzzins" ( and I hope I'm related to every single one of you on this list ) out there have any suggestions as to which rock to look under next, I'll try 'em all! Blessings on all who post here Paige ----- Original Message ----- From: <Penjacc@aol.com> To: <KILGORE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2002 11:12 AM Subject: [KILGORE] Re: Alberry B.
