Randy, In doing genealogy for several years (how many, I ain't sayin'), I've found several lines where a branch of the line went to Ireland, while another branch remained in Scotland, or England. So, it is quite likely that some lines of KILGORE do, in fact, have Irish roots, while others are (more or less) Scot. My recommendation is that you continue to do as you have in the past, until such time as your original information is either proven or disproven. Family traditions usually have at least a small grain of truth to them.
