What he does is signs on to all the mail lists and then posts his messages and then unsubs. People respond for lookups from his post but by then he is gone. All I was saying is that he is using the mail lists to profit for himself. I am not saying that the info that he is selling is not worth the money but I hesitated in posting that info as it was a post for profit. I noticed this time he did not put a monetary amount in his post but just said to contact him. I only know what the rules are on posts to Rootsweb mail lists and I can only warn the list members of what is happening with the post that I forwarded. I did not want the list members to loose out on some possible valuable info that might benefit them so I went ahead and forwarded the post. I just wanted you all to be aware that he was NOT doing lookups but selling his info. Gail

Gail, thank you for your concern for the lists and trying to do the appropriate thing in this matter. I have already explained my position/experience/results of the Cowan postings. I wish some others on the list would speak up with their opinions...so far, I haven't seen that. I wish we could see THEIR COMMENTS, they , after all, ARE the 'lists' we are speaking of here.
