My gr.-grandfather, Andrew Thomas Kilgore was b. 1804 in KY; d. 29 Feb 1888 in Weston, Umatilla Co. His father was said to be Johnston Kilgore, no dates, who presumably lived in KY when Andrew was born. That is the earliest of my discoveries. My grandmother was Arminta Catherine Barnes b.06 Feb 1859 in Mercer Co., MO who married my grandfather James Wessel Sills in Cove, Union Co., OR on 07 May 1882 and she died Feb. 1942 in Cove, Union Co., OR. My mother and I visited her from Canada for at least 10 days in October 1939 when I was ten years old. Does that mesh with any of your research? This is the information from his Obituary.There is reference to Huntington, West Virginia where he married Minerva McCommas but I have not looked into that. Help!!! For some reason I cannot access any of the sites on MyFamily.com where I was once allowed access. They will not accept my passwords (I had 4, for 4 different sites, and MyFamily.com just keeps wanting me to upgrade. These were sites which I did not own. They were sites I had joined or had been previously invited to join. Hopefully, somebody can tell me what is going on, because I have had this problem for many months now, and it is aggravating. It took months to get it all together since it was done along with the second edition of "Descendants of Joseph Killgore 1690(1701)-1764 of Scotland" which is a genealogical book containing the names of over 20,000 descendants, their spouses, and their spouses parents, a large photo section mainly of my own family although there are a few others, and 32 blank pages so recipinets could personalize their own copies. This book is enormous. I would like to say that if you can get a copy of Sarah Plain & Tall starring Glenn Close, you will see a story based on the life of Ella Vienna Kilgore an early 20th century mail order brise. It is part of a Trilogy made by Hallmark. It is a wonderful set of family movies and I highly frecommend them. They can be purchased through Hallmark stores.
