The book is written on paper and bound between covers made of home spun cloth. The handwriting is very good and the ink has lasted well. Copied August, 1966, by Emory L. Hamilton, Wise, Virginia, with a copy filed in the Archives of the Southwest Virginia Historical Society, at Clinch Valley College, Wise, Virginia and a copy sent to the Virginia State Library, Richmond, Virginia. Agreed upon by this church that a committee go to the Deep Spring Church at the Three Forks of Powells River: the same of the delegates: Robert Kilgore, Henry Cock, John Brickey, Wm. Stewart, James Brickey, David Cock. Henry Cock and Nevil Wayland is appointed by this church as clerk. Then came forward James Leath, Margaret Leath and Sister Nancy Roberts, and Sister Jenny and requested letter of Dismission to which the unanimously agreed. Dismissed in order. August the ____ (1806) Church meeting held at Stony Creek. The church appointed Br. Kitchen and Br. Riggs to cite Br. David Gibson to next church meeting. *Br*. *Robert Kilgore* applied for a letter of dismission for himself and Thomas Esland (Easterling) and James Bama and was granted. Br. Wells and his wife received by letter. Dismissed in order I did not go though all of the years but there was a Robin Kilgore mentioned... Dd, My prayers go out to you and your family in again, another tragic time in your life. I am sure this has been very hard for everyone involved in your son's life and all the people who were handling his medical care. You can be thankful for the time God gave you with your son but also know now he is at peace, no more pain, no more struggling to live. God will welcome him with open arms and his Dad was also waiting for him. Dd, you certainly have my prayers and understanding. We almost lost my son to pneumonia because he waited to long to go the doctor. He was in the hospital with a tube in his lungs and nine doctors. Fortunate, the outcome was a good one. He is a big strapping guy at 52. I still get very nervous when he contacts a cold.   Prayers and love to you,   Fred Kilgo Daniel

Wish this was a more cheerful update but it is not. My sons Pulmonologist came back early from his vacation to see what he could do for him. He has been his lung doctor for most of his life. The doctor told us it was the worst case of pneumonia he has ever seen him have. This is coupled with E-Coli growing in his lungs. He was one a broad spectrum antibiotic but he was not responding to that so they switched him to another antibiotic tonight. In any case he flat out said that if his heart stops he will not resuscitate him due to his ongoing health issues. Just to give you a little background on my son. He was born early with the umbilical cord around his neck causing everything in the neck area to be paralyzed. My son would have been 21 this year. Hi, Spelling was not critical in the early days.  I have copies of Patrick Kilgore's will ( he died in 1808) where within the document Kilgore is spelled three ways..  One just has to be creative in spelling names and remember that educational levels and life in general were very different from things in 2009.  My Kilgore's were early arrivals in PA- about 1720-James and Elizabeth Jack Kilgore were one set of my 7th great grandparents.  Have fun as you research.....it never really ends.
