Don just needs to get a hold of Family Tree DNA and order his kit... we don't have any money in reserve to help right now so he is on his own. I haven't received your money yet Jack but then I didn't check my mail today. We got our H1N1 shots today, have a big break out here and it RAINED in AZ... it really rained....and I didn't make it to the mail box. I don't know if I'm related to Rev. Robin Kilgore or not but can trace my line back to Robert Killgore Sr in the late 1700s in Wilkes County, Georgia. I'd be glad to participate in a DNA test, if you think it would help your project. Judy, I have a William Kilgore born in Greene Co TN but he would be older than your William. His Father was Charles Kilgore b 1740 in VA and fought in the Battle of Kings Mt. I am sure there are lots of Williams but there's one for you to pursue. Yes, is there any way those of us who are not direct male or female descendents can view the results? I am part of the BOND DNA testing and our results are available on-line by kit number (no names or addresses). Here's the link: http://www.historicalgenetics.com/Bond_Results_58_50.pdf This has been a great resource, led to some interesting discussions, and been of assistance to those who are not direct descendents tie into their BOND lines. I know there are hundreds (thousands?) of folks like me who think we are related to Rev. Robert Kilgore/Winnie and have been rummaging around in Scott Co., Virginia DNA for years. I know I asked for access to the results some time back, but got no response - I assume because I am not a direct descendent. Can anyone direct me as to how to have access to the Kilgore/rootsweb archives for September 2007? Jim Yoder
Gail, is there anyway that the women who cannot be tested can see the results??????? My Hancock line has info on line with the oldest ancestor and descendants. NO PERSONAL info is displayed. NO living person is on there. I am descended from Allan Killgore and Murtis Killgore. I have good documentation from William died 1790 GA down to myself. However, I can't find where and when William came to colonies. I even went to Charlestown, SC and the SC archives in Columbia. He got land north of Savannah in 1751. Has anyone in this line had the DNA test? Thanks Karen Duran Dean

Gail, My great grandfather was Joseph Kilgore (1849-1927) and my grandfather was Henry U. Kilgore, (1880-1958). Joseph Kilgore was born near Londonderry, Ireland and Henry Kilgore was born in Chambers Co., Texas. Joseph Kilgore (1849-1927) immigrated along with siblings to the US circa 1860 and his father's name was Joseph Kilgore. Joseph Kilgore (1849-1927) had a brother Robert Kilgore (1814-1861) who was also born near Londonderry, Ireland. Robert Kilgore (1814-1861) immigrated to the US circa 1838. Also, Robert Kilgore (1814-1861) was the great grandfather of Charles Kilgore (1917-2008) of League City, Texas. I have one Kilgore male cousin that has Joseph Kilgore (1849-1927) as a grandfather and two male Kilgore cousins that have Joseph Kilgore (1849-1927) as a great grandfather. I have not approached them about participating in a DNA marker tracking program. However, I would like to for obvious reasons. John, I got the impression from my YDNA results that FTDNA uses personalized predictions of the time to the MRCA using their Tip calculator. Do you know if they use "personalized" years per generation (YPG) in their calculations or do they use a fixed 25 YPG? If they use personalized figures it seems like it would be possible if Vickie's brother was @ the upper extreme of 30 YPG & Gail's brother was @ the lower end of 25 YPG you would end up with roughly 300-325 yrs to their MRCA. If they use a fixed 25 YPG you would end up with a 250-325 yrs range. If the Vickie & Gail's brothers were born c1950, the personalized approach could make their MRCA born 1625-1650 or possibly James W's dad, while the fixed 25 yr approach could make their MRCA born 1625-1700 or possibly EITHER Jame W.or his dad. Oh what a wicked web we weave--it gets confusing but damn interesting. Jack
OOPS, I butchered this one... First of all, I meant Gail, and then failed to put the link but I am sure Gail knows the link to FTDNA, I can't find my reference now!!! DUH!!! Ya, I got a special cause I think it was either 169.00 or higher for a 37 marker. I have been updating my records on the Westmoreland bunch and I swear if we put ALL the Kilgore's in a huge field or stadium from the beginning of Kilgore's in the US and if we asked all the John's, William's, Jesse's, James's, Thomas's to stand up and leave the area... the stadium would be empty. I can't believe how the Westmoreland have so many Jesse's.....James...... William,,,,,,, and the list goes on... they never came up with a original name. Have to rise and shine early in the morning to get a blood draw to see if there is any left in my body....... The graph indicates a best guess based on the AVERAGE rate of mutation. The ACTUAL mutations occur either more or less frequently in real life. So someone 10 generations removed may have 2 mutations and another person, also 10 generations removed, may have 3, so the program that makes the graph will guess that the person with 3 mutations is 13 generations removed instead of 10. All this is to say that the graph is only an indication, not an authority. JK On Nov 12, 2009, at 10:08 AM, Vickie Miller wrote: > That makes two of us. Well, I must have been off in La La Land as I don't remember seeing the graph, could you send the link again??? Also, David/Jane Kilgore did his DNA with Ancestry, can his markers be added to the graph? g >
