There were few mixed marriages in those days between white and black. However there were many between white and Melungen. Some of these dark complected Irish came to America from Portugal. (Black Irish) One became a US senator. (Green) MY uncle was one and his name was Bernard O'neil. HIs fathers nickname was "Nig". You can guess what that meant. Found the Joseph Kilgore b ca 1690 that is supposed to connect to Peter of Wake and James of SC. He immigrated to Boston in 1718. He m Penelope Treworgy 17 Jan 1719/20 in Kittery ME. It seems odd that he would have gone to Boston and Peter to VA. I am surprised at this connection. Is there anyone on this board that connects to this branch? I am not surprised that James of SC branches from the Wake Co, NC family but I am not exactly sure how this happens. Freda

Bobbie is the great grandson of Elizabeth Kilgore Lee, daughter of John Kilgore, son of Joshua, son of Thomas #2, son of Thomas #1 Hi Cousins, The nightmare continues for my brother. He had his 6th cancer surgery the day before Thanksgiving. Yesterday he had a followup visit with the doctor. Apparently the pathologist decided that the surgeon should have taken a larger margin around the tumor. Surgery number 7 will probably be next week. He's still feeling terrible from last week's operation and all the chemo that preceeded it. He doesn't know how he's going to have the strength to make it through the next one. I'll keep you posted. Love, Jackie
Here is the post for today: My great-great-grandfather was Andrew Thomeas Kilgore; born 1804 in Kentucky, died 29 Feb 1888 in Weston, Umatilla Co., OR. He married (1) Alba Winscott (or Wainscott) 18 Jun 1829 in Boone Co., MO. Alba was born in KY and 1868 (probably in OR).Their children were; (1)Martha A. Kilgore, b abt 1834,Lexington,Lafayette Co,MO, (2)Minerva Kilgore, b. 25 Dec 1836, Lexington, MO, d. 04 Feb 1921, Cove, Union Co.,OR,(3)Nancy Kilgore, b. abt 1838 MO; (4) Sarah Elizabeth Kilgore, b.25 Aug 1840, MO,d. 22 Oct a924, Weston OR, (5) Alley Kilgore, b. abt 1843 MO, (6)Lewis Myers Kilgore b. abt 1846 MO; (7)William Kilgore, b. Jan 1850, Decatur Co., IOWA. Minerva Kilgore m.Oliver Perry Barnes 26 Jun 1854 in Princeton, Mercer Co., MO; The 4th of their 9 children, Arminta Catherine Barnes was my grandmother. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dan emailed me and said that the guest book was a third party guest book and he didn't set it up as to email addresses being added. He also told me that he is the father of another son, Jamison Joshua Kilgore who is now 7 months old. So while his wife works at night, he tends to the two boys. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Roy, Don Kilgore in North Platte, NE emailed me tonight sending a scan of your letter to him about DNA testing. Don is Jack's cousin. William Kilgore is Don's great grandfather and William Kilgore is Jack's great great grandfather but Jack and Don are closer in age than Jack is to Don's kids.... what is that, that 1/2 generation stuff. So, I told Don he didn't need to DNA test since we already know which line he belongs in... Thomas #1. I haven't heard anything about Wally Kilgore's test and Jack, I still haven't done anything with your check. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ John, were you able to get into the web site? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Randy, I hope and pray that you had a nice Thanksgiving... prayers and lots of hugs coming your direction daily. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope the rest of you all had a great Thanksgiving. We sure have a lot to be Thankful for... Gail
