    3. I was referring to William as the father of Thomas #1 since his first born son was named William. Cause we sure don't have any other prospects in the US as his father. There was the Robert who was indentured but that probability is very unprobable. Kilgore's line. Roy's book is more about Joseph's ancestors than his descendants. I don't recall him mentioning Penelope. He includes Joseph's parents, John Kilgore & Helen Lister. What I have on Joseph so far is: born, c1700 emigrated from Fife, Scotland to York, Maine. Wrote his will in 1764 naming his son Joseph, Jr as the recipient of his "Great Bible". His children were James, b 1724; Joseph, Jr, b 1730 m Abigail Page; Benjamin, b 1732, m Amy Hambleton; John (1734-1818) m Elizabeth Brackett; Mary b 1721; Alice b 1726; Katherine b 1727 m ? Beatle; and Elizabeth b 1736, m ? Abbot. I'll have to check my scribbled notes to see where I got the family info--I'm pretty sure it wasn't from Roy's book. All I recall from the book was Joseph's birth in 1701, his arrival in this country in 1718, his ancestor's names, he wrote his will in 1764 & he had a son Joseph, Jr. Maybe Roy can fill us in on Joseph's descendants. 2. No, this is not my Avarilla. Mine was born about 1807 in TN and we have her as Mary Avarilla (Jane) Kilgore. She married Josiah Heaton, b abt 1799 in SC but we have no date. Their first named child was Hollingsworth b abt 1826, TN; twin girls Mary and Martha b abt1828 TN, then Josiah b abt 1830 in TN. Josiah was on the 1830 Marion Co, TN census with four children under 5 and female with age which matched Avarilla. She was called Rilla later according to papers filed by one son who was applying for Civil War pension. I have a lot of info on Avarilla and Josiah but no parents or siblings for her. I wish someone out there had something but so far not. What also confuses me is why their first born was named Hollingsworth and not Josiah or some Kilgore first name. I have found no other Hollingsworth Kilgore or Heaton so cannot connect that name to anyone. Anyone have any suggestions???? I have not joined the DNA testing because we have no male descendants from our Kilgores that I know of. Dorothy In a message dated 12/13/2009 2:17:51 A.M. 2. Unfortunately, yes. Vickie tried to help me ages ago but was not successful either. She believes my Avarilla may be from Thomas but we have no proof so I am still facing that brick wall. I copied so many emails to study in hopes of finding my Kilgore but so far have not. Maybe some day. I had thought she was from Stephen because she was in Marion Co, TN when he was but I have not been able to connect with him. And maybe some interest to others, she had two daughters or granddaughters (I forget which now) who looked very American Indian or Spanish (maybe Melungeon, who knows) I have pictures of them and their husbands.
