Thank you! Susan
Jack, Hi! Thanks for you e-mail. Looks like you are a Washingtonian too! We are in Olympia, Wa. My Grandfather was very much a mystery to our family. We know hardly anything about him. He was separated from our Grandmother most of the marriage. He was always off in a war or something. I am still waiting on Military records--takes a long time. He was born in LaFayette, Indiana Oct. l, 1872. He was married to my Grandmother 4/24/1904. L.A. Calif. He received 160 acres of Mojave Desert to Homestead for being in a war. He died Dec. 13, 1940. He is buried in L.A. Na. Cemetery. On the death cert. most information is listed as unknown. I think the war records will give me some new information to go on, I hope. He may also have had another family, it's possible. He had 5 children with my Grandmother - 2 sets of twins. None of the children knew him very well & only saw him seldom. (Kinda Sad) I hope pension records will give me some information. There is only 1 son left (my mothers twin) & I would like to at least give him some information while he is still alive & can understand it. Thanks again for your reply! Being your Kilgore's are from Pa. Try the Kilgore Forum on Gen forum. Almost all of those are from around Pa.
Hello, I am in connect with an older woman whose husband was related to a Reuben Shelby Kilgore, Issac Kilgore, and if my memory is correct I believe that someone in that line married a Susan Kelly. Does this sound familiar to you? Let me know. I also am a 'Kilgore' but through a different line.... Robert Killgore and Winnie Clayton, Hiram & Rebecca Renfro, Stephen & Elizabeth Allen, James Ambrose & (wife #2) Amanda M. Colvin Wilcox. Look forward to hearing back from you. Was he a brother of George Yates, Elijah Yates, SHannah Shelton, Ann Gibson, and Martha Watts, children of John and Elizabeth Yates? Tradition has it that John Yates married a Miss Kilgore and had at least three sons: William, Thomas, and James. John Yates and his three sons are said to have fought in the Revolutionary War and moved from Halifax County, Virginia to Caswell County, North Carolina soon afterwards. They remained in North Carolina only a few years then moved to Cross Plains, Robertson County, Tennessee in the KILGORE party. William Yates was born in 1744 and married Agnes Price in Virginia. Thomas Yates was born in 1752 in Dedford County, Virginia and was married in 1776 in North Carolina to Rebecca Ragsdale, the dau. of William Ragsdale. JAMES YATES MARRIED LYDIA KILGORE, said to have been the dau. of THOMAS AND PHOEBE LEE KILGORE. John Yates, son of either William or Thomas, is said to hae married a dau. of George and Mary Isabell. John and his wife were the parents of Sally (married Lewis Ragsdale), Mary, Agatha, and Nancy. (there is more on this page source, but is not about this particular line). Does anyone have any info on Jane MCDAVID, the 2nd wife of Benjamin KILGORE? I have nothing on her other than that fact. I do believe that she died in Livingston Co., KY, sometime after the death of Benjamin in 1802, just shortly after they had moved there. I would appreciate anything on her! Thank you! Godspeed... Dolores M. Pringle
Carolyn, Send me the names and dates of the Kilgore's you do know about and I will look in my Kilgore data for a match. Cousin Jack in Hoodsport, WA.

Good morning Dd, I don't know if this info will benefit anyone, but I ran across it yesterday while at the library "AGAIN". In the Menengo Co., Al. marriage book dated 1818-1828, there was listed: Hugh Kilgore and Fannie Gray married Jan. 12, 1825. page 86. I am probably the only one who did not know this, but I am passing on what I found. Also, I have a pic. with graves on it. William F. Kilgore b: 1886 d: 1924, plus other Kilgores that I can not make out the headstones. One is GLK, RLK, (which I think is Raymond,) and another I can't even make out the initials. I do not know where this pic. was taken. I did not know how to pass this info along, so I sent it through you. I STILL have not found anything on Raymond and JW. So, I am still locked into "going nowhere mode". I've been to the library so much lately, that Wed. the librarian ask me to volunteer to work there. ha ha. and of course I said yes. I start back to college in Aug. (2 sem. left, then I gradgeate. ha!) I work full time, the kids say I am obsessed with this gen. stuff. Fri. I had the entire office looking at pics. Oh well, have a nice day. Thank yall for allowing me in. I was reviewing some old email and came across this one from Alice Dyck. 1. ? Thomas Kilgore (1712-??) m. Lydia Yates 2. Robert Kilgore (ca 1735-1782) m. Winnifred "Winney" Clayton 3. Robert James "Robin" Kilgore (1765-1854) m. Jane Porter What documentation do you have that Thomas Kilgore and Lydia Yates were Roberts parents? Mucho thanks. Cousin Dennie
Where do the residents of Anniston, Al get enough money to support so many huge banks? It is a small town with multi story banks on every corner. Certainly the race track doesn't bring in that much money. Cousin Dennie
Whitwell Tennessee is in Marion County Tennessee. (It is the county just west of Hamilton when Chattanooga is.) My grandmother, May Kilgore, was born there. It is in a beautiful lush green valley. Note: It is still underdeveloped, convenient to Chattanooga, and would make good investment property. Once you visit there, you can see how those Indian residents who decided not to go west on the Trail of Tears, could have easily hidden out. Then they just migrated south into Alabama. Cousin Dennie
Rhonda: Please tell us where whitwell TN is? Are Addie Crave and John Henry brothers?? Is Wash there father? What is John Henry birth date?? I have three Geo washington Killgore's in my files Roy in Vegas
Jim, I appreciate the information you shared with me. Have you make any new discoveries on your Kilgore line? Have you heard anything else from Barbara Reid? Davine
