    3. I get nausea and headaches when I use microfilm. I can hardly wait, until it is all online. In the mean time, may I suggest paying small children. I used to give my kids 25 cents per relative, that they found on the microfilm. Then they raised the price, but it was still worth it. The alternative is carrying a barf bag to the archives. Dennie

    3. HI Carolyn, I do not get sick like you do but I do get this felling that comes over me when I am the Archives. It is as if I can not think right. If I do not write down everything I want to look up I can not remember my own name! I can only stay a few hours because I just can not think straight. My head becomes a fuss ball sitting on my shoulders. My brain becomes a major fog bank. I think that is how I feel,, sitting in a fog cloud and not being able to see my hand in front of my face. (hubby says I live in a fog bank all the time! LOL) Even with the notes in front of me I have a hard time remembering which line goes to what family, much less what County I need to be searching, or who I want to look up. I have had to go back many times because I could not think to look for the children or parents in the census, and still need to go back now for the same reasons! All I can tell you is that you might try to look away from the film while it is moving as much as you can, and you might try Dramin (SP????) what ever that is for motion sickness. You can pick some up at the pharmacy. We all know how frustrating it can be not to find connections. I have looked for 16 years for information on my Grandmothers death. Just found it and her grave this past week! And my Mother is still alive but did not know! Go figure! Hang in there, we all have been there. We all share what we find even if it is not related to our lines. It might help someone else connect. Carol I also want to thank all of you for your prayers. I will let you know how he is doing as soon as I hear more.

    3. Carolyn: Nausea with microfilm is probably caused by the inner ear thing that makes some carsick. Why don't you try dramamine before you microfilm again -- over the counter for airsickness and carsickness. The worst it will do is make you too sleepy to do research. My own microfilm problem is that I can walk into any room and pick the machine that is about to self-destruct or just refuse to work. Confirmed that last week at Austin (TEXAS) History Center. Finally after all the staff individually helped, they just turned off the coin operated print and trusted me to pay for whatever I copied. Hope this helps. Genealogy success is just a by-product of the real accomplishment in all this research -- PATIENCE. One day you will turn a corner and find some of those people -- just when you least expect it. 3. Sorry, Joyce, that you are disappointed in responses to your inquiries and to the Kilgore-list. I haven't had much input lately simply because I'm at a dead end with my gggrandfather, Elijah Kilgore, who seems to fit into NOBODY'S line of Kilgores. And....that's probably why you have received no response. Nobody knows anything to tell you. But, my best advice....in all sincerity....is to hang in there. Don't be disappointed; just be hopeful that one of these days someone WILL put something on the list that DOES relate to your Kilgores. In the meantime, if someone else poses a query that YOU know something about, then SHARE. That's what we're all here for.....to HELP, to SHARE our common Kilgore experiences and information. And, yes, if in the lulls in genealogy give way to needs for chat, friendship, prayers, etc.....then go with the flow and participate when you feel like responding. If it all goes into the archives, then not only is our genealogy info there....but other indications of our humanity. Hope you will forgive us for not responding when you needed response, and forgive us for chatting when you only wanted genealogy. We hope you will reconsider. Ora Jane in hot, humid, southwest GA.

    3. Hi Cindy. Your reference to Plant City, Fl caught my attention. My Mother Florence (Kilgore) Hill recounted to me on several occasions a contact during the early part of the 1900's between the Kilgore family in Texas City, TX and Kilgore's in Plant City, Fl. After a review of the notes that I took on those occasions, I would like to relay to you portions of the information and see if there is any connection between your Kilgore line and the Kilgore's that my Mother made reference to.
