    2. Randy I don't think any one on the list could have put it any better. I know I have not wrote to the list in a while but nonetheless I always find time to read the post it may sometimes be days worth but always amusing and relaxing. I will surely miss reading Jacks posts and having him poke fun at everyone. but he will be one cousin that I will always hold close to my heart along with my son. Its been hard loosing my son, but theirs not a day gone by that I don't read a post on this list and walk away with a brighter smile then when I started. Its because of people on this list that I still hold all the funny, silly memories in my heart and mind. So I would like to thank everyone here for being such good family and always sticking together even when we are all driving our neighbors nuts running around in them bright purple boxers! Cousin Marie PS Walmart has trampolines on sale so hurry and get your but you better watch out for them falling prices. Oh I forgot to mention that sale is only if you go into Walmart wearing your Purple Boxers Good Luck catching that sale Cousin Marie

    3. Randy, This is your dirty - tactics specialist Eunice ............ All these years I have faithfully worn my purple boxer shorts , even if they were puckered, where I tried to applique the big K on them . Because I though you said FLIRTY . And I was a hit with the AARP, now I will have to find a new approach with my tactics. Oh ! The Shame Of It All.

    1. [KILGORE] CHAT: New member orientation...old member info, part III
    2. Now, new members don't be too fearful. Our orientations are legendary, and nearly everyone's been through one. Below is our most popular selection, and one I'm sure you'll enjoy as you complete it. Step One: You must go to the grocery store and buy the biggest pickle you can find. Now you're going to be making a pickle-whistle, so you'll want to pick just the right one. Ora Jane will tell you that means a pickle with exactly seventeen bumps on the left side (none of us have ever been brave enough to ask her how she knows which is the left side of a pickle), and the Penley side of this clan insists it must be a sweet pickle and not a dill. Nevertheless, Linda Dupuy, last year's virtual pickle-whistling prima donna, advises in her new book, "Pucker Up and Toot" that the pickle must be dill, and it must be slightly overripe. Anyway, once you've got that pickle home, you need to take a corkscrew and drill out the center. Then with an ice pick, poke three tiny holes one inch apart just about 3 inches from where your lips will be when you're tooting. Step Two. Buy yourself a trampoline. Install it in your backyard. If you can't afford to buy one, then you can rent one at www.barbekay.com. She delivers. If you can't afford to rent one, then you shouldn't be spending time on the computer. Get a second job and come back and see us later. Step Three. Find out when your neighbor's next garden party will be. Step Four. About midway through the party, go out on your trampoline with your pickle-whistle and start to bounce, slowly at first, but gradually going higher and higher, tooting your whistle as you hop. If your neighbor has a fence, all the better because you'll be a bigger distraction as you leave their sight momentarily only to airily return. After you know you've got their attention, stop, look directly at them and shout "AND NOW, YOUR NATIONAL ANTHEM". At this point, you should know that your pickle-whistle isn't going to hit those high notes, so you're going to have to pretend it's a kazoo and hum that anthem through that pickle. Don't be timid, really belt that thing out. Put some heart into it. People in your neighbor's yard won't know whether to stand and salute the flag or sit there and stare at you. Either way, you've got their undivided attention. When you finish, shout "PLAY BALL!" and then quietly go back in your house. Step Five: The next morning, bronze the pickle-whistle, present it to your neighbor and ask him what you should do with it. (I think I know what he's going to tell you, but I'll let it be a surprise for you). After that call 1-800-ALLEN'S-OLDER, report the time and date of your completed initiation, and we'll send you a pair of the coveted purple boxer shorts and a tape of the Greatest Hits of the All Girl Port-a-Potty Echo and Percussion Show (see archives.) Trust me, this will be one of the highlights of your time with us as cousins. (SERIOUS NOTE: Whenever I did one of these humorous posts, one of the first cousins I'd hear from is Jack Goins. As most of the list knows, Jack was lost to us recently, and hardly a day goes by that I don't still find myself looking for a post from him. We are so very lucky to have discovered so many Kilgore cousins out there. No matter how hard the day, no matter how busy the schedule, I always sit down and read the posts from the Kilgore board faithfully. I love this list, and the people who are part of it...This series of posts is dedicated to our dear friend Jack...With a tip of our tinfoil-laced fingers, and a flap of our Purple Boxers, we remember him fondly.) Respectfully, Randy

    2. DOROTHY invented those little table-thingies they stick in pizzas now to keep the stuff from sticking to the top of the pizza box. You can learn more about her at Table-thingie.com. CINDY models winter coats for L.L. Bean in the wintertime, then spends the rest of her days on Atlantic City beaches selling lemonade for the Red Cross. BILLY is a golf ball dimple dolly. He works for MaxFli pressing dimples in their golf balls. He recently received an industry award, the "Dimple Dollies Lifetime Impression Award". DONNA, (WHOM WE'RE NOT HEARING ENOUGH FROM LATELY!!!!!), is the founder and CEO of Victoria's Secret. She gets a lot of emails from the men on the list. (Of course, as a seminary graduate, I've never actually SEEN a Victoria's Secret catalog, just heard about them from Allen and Billy.) SHIRLEY recently gave up her career as a NASCAR pit mechanic to pursue her lifelong goal as a dancer in RIVERDANCE! (Not to be confused with our own group, QUIVERDANCE (see archives). ORA JANE is the Leftover Distribution Specialist for Emeril Live! on the Food Network. ROY is Fidel Castro's barber. DAISY is the voice you hear on most phones in America when you keep them off the hook too long..."If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and dial again." EUNICE is a 'dirty-tactics' specialist for the AARP political lobby. PAIGE is Mick Jagger's sister, and is the mattress manufacturer's post-sale tag attachment inspector. So, do not remove under penalty of law! Well, I could tell you about the rest, but that's enough for now. Okay, maybe one more...Nina is the back-up singer who does the "Doo doo doo doos" for that all-time famous hit Mr. Sandman. So, to be inducted as a full member into this sedate group, please read the next email...

    1. [KILGORE] CHAT: New member orientation...old member info, part I
    2. Great news, gang. I've finally worked out the details for the next round of new member orientation, and its exciting! For all of you who have joined since Gail took over the list administration, this is an email to which you should pay close attention. (Sneaky grin spreads over his face) However, before I break you into the group officially, I thought you'd like to know something about the names you see posted here on the board from time to time. So here goes: ALLEN escaped from the Shady Rest Home for Wayward Coal Miners three years ago, and travels around in an RV taunting the WCM security team with emails from different spots around the globe. KALI, reportedly the youngest member of our group and clearly one of everyone's favorites, lives halfway up Mount Kilimanjaro and monitors bald eagle sightings for the National Audubon Society. KALI'S PARENTS have stopped using their real names on the board here because of KALI'S chosen profession. They now refer to themselves as Roscoe and Maude, and they spend most of their time seining rivers for gold in Battaloosca, Brazil. BARBARA of BARBEKAY fame is a comb-tooth tester for Acme Pocket Combs international. She's a favorite at reunions and barbecues for her ability to play "Amazing Grace" on a comb without accompaniment! HOPE is an interior line coach for the Oakland Raiders football team. LINDAS 1-5 are actually the same person. We recently learned this...but please, pretend not to notice. Its safer that way... Dd has spent the past seven years studying the bacteria on pond lilies and is presently writing a doctoral thesis on the subject. JIM AND SHARON are stars. You probably know them as Johnny Cash and June Carter. As they've grown older, though, they've had to consider moving: Seems they live near a commuter line, and everytime it rolls by, Jim breaks out in "I hear the train a-comin'..." Neighbors say its okay the first time, but after thirty times it gets old. GAIL, our illustrious group tender, is actually the Javelin-catching coach for the U.S. Olympic team. NELL is a professional cusser. NELL'S husband BEN, is an amateur cusser. more to follow...

I feel that if I can get them out there, someone might could help me. I can't get any further past Raymond and James W. Kilgore. I can have my son-in-law scan them for me, but then what? 3. Hello, I am one of the silent members because I have two little ones keeping me running right now. I just wanted to let anyone that is interested know that I have aquired a few pictures from the Charles Kilgore & Sarah Dougherty Family... son of Hiram & Rebecca Renfro. I can scan and send to any that would like to get a copy. I am myself trying to find any other Kilgore pictures if anyone has something to share. I would like to find any of Charles' siblings especially Stephen & Elizabeth Allen for they are my direct line, but would appreciate any that I could get. Thank you. 3. Dd, I would ask that those names and email addresses be sent privately as they go into the archives and can be searched and harvested by spammers. I just went thru this big mess on another list and it is really no fun. In fact, that big mess is now in the hands of the FBI. That is also why I am only asking the state the new member is located in and their lines. If they wish to add more then I will post it but I want to keep as much information as possible off the Internet and out of the archives. This person made a web page and posted all my personal data and even had my home mailing address on the site and I have a unlisted phone. There are vindictive people out there. Gail

    1. [KILGORE] Plant City Kilgores
    2. Charles Mcgehee
    3. Hi Mary and the rest of the gang I will give you the info I have on the Plant City, Fl. Kilgores: Henry M. Kilgore born Ratcliff, TX. on the 25th December, 1881; son of J>D. Kilgore and Jane Adair. He was educated in TX. and came to Fl. in 1902. He established Kilgore feed and seed and became very successful. He married Flossie Z. Motes in Tampa, Fl. March 07, 1904 and they had five children: Naomi, Mildred, Otis, Lois and Madison. I know this family personally from having attended the same local church with them. Madison's widow is still living and is remarried and their two sons are Don Kilgore, who is a retired Judge and John Kilgore who is a doctor here in Plant City. This family has been plagued with scandal and has really taken its toll on Madison's widow. For a long time I was convinced that this was not my line but I have had to rethink this because we are related. I would have to take time to go back and retrace exactly where Henry descends but I was able to do that last year and know that he is a descendant of James SR. You never know where you will find relatives so don't do like I did and assume that there is no relationship. Hope that this helps some of you. Mary I know that both you and Dot Garrison live and have family in TX. so this may be off your line. If you can't make the connection let me know and I will go back over all that I have and see if I can connect to it again. G! ood luck. Cindy (Kilgore) McGehee
