I wish I did have more information but I do not. Sometimes when researchign other surnames I bump into the Kilgore name and I like to post them hoping it will lead someone else to their missing branch. I suggest you check out Rootsweb.com and Usgenweb.com for more information. Another good search engine is Gendoor.com Best of luck Dd
Thanks a bunch, Gail. Does anyone out there know if any of the Kilgores in Kilgore, TX, went to OK sometime in the latter half of the 1800's? Davine Roberts Jacksonville, FL
Barbara, thank you so much for posting this great info. I think I may have found a lead on my husband's great grandfather, whose name is William and was born about the same time in OK, I believe. At least we know they came from OK to AL around 1900. You wrote that William G. Kilgore was 4 in 1860 Census, from MO. Do you know anything else about him? Many thanks, Davine
Thank you for posting information on Kilgores in OK. Here's a little more information on Henry Washtington Kilgore (BTW he is the one in the 1920 census records that you posted). Any help is greatly appreciated. Again thanks for the postings. Sincerely, Barbara (James) Rowe
Seeing that post of Kilgore, TX, which is my understanding, that the Kilgore's that started Kilgore TX were from the Cumberland, PA Kilgore's, Benjamin Kilgore line. Please correct me if I am wrong on that one and.. I just located a new cousin who family descends from York Co., PA and her gg grandfather has a town named after him, Kilgore, KY and this is the first time that I have run across a Kilgore with descendants from York Co., in KY, we have some that were in WV but never heard of any in KY. So, if any of you have missing links in KY this maybe a clue. Have a great day! Gail
Does anybody out there know anything about the Kilgore family from which Kilgore, TX was named? It has been rumored that my husband's Kilgores went from Kilgore, TX, to somewhere in OK during the 1800's. Then they moved on to Walker and Fayette Co., AL, around 1903-4. Linda, I myself don't enjoy the fresh tomatoes, but my husband loves them. Though, he would much rather have a good batch of salsa -- he loves to help me make it and can it. Come on over anytime, I just found about 15 more tomatoes on our plants this morning. Well is everyone resting now? LOL I just bet you are after all your hard work. Love, Cindy
Thanks for the invite but I think I will let all of you can the fruit and I will sit in my chair and work on my brick wall. As a matter of fact I think I will lower the air. Just thinking about standing over a steaming hot pressure cooker makes it feel warmer in here. LOL Don't work too hard..... Love Cindy
