    1. [KILGORE] Cheaper DNA Testing
    2. D Rennow
    3. If they can afford to do DNA test on dog poop, it must be much cheaper there. Perhaps we should see if they have a human genealogy project. <insert grin here> Cousin Dennie PETAH TIKVA, Israel (Reuters) - An Israeli city is using DNA analysis of dog droppings to reward and punish pet owners. Under a six-month trial programme launched this week, the city of Petah Tikva, a suburb of Tel Aviv, is asking dog owners to take their animal to a municipal veterinarian, who then swabs its mouth and collects DNA. The city will use the DNA database it is building to match faeces to a registered dog and identify its owner. Owners who scoop up their dogs' droppings and place them in specially marked bins on Petah Tikva's streets will be eligible for rewards of pet food coupons and dog toys. But droppings found underfoot in the street and matched through the DNA database to a registered pet could earn its owner a municipal fine.

    3. I apologize for this statement: Also, no one's hitting anyone up for money-so could those who aren't responding at least send in your lines to the list? That didn't come out the way I meant and it was out of line. I'm not suggesting that people are holding back their lines for any reason. I'm just a bit frustrated that with a list the size of this one-so few people seem to be responding in any way. Where are the other people of this list? What lines do they represent? Sincerely, Vickie

    1. [KILGORE] Charles Kilgore DNA
    2. Vickie Miller
    3. Four of us descendants from Charles Kilgore have been discussing things off-list and have decided to pool our resources and have two male descendants of Charles Kilgore B:1740 died 1823 tested. We are using the FTDNA lab suggested by Robert. It has the most Kilgore submissions-while Ancestry is cheaper-it only has one submission and so we're using the one that has the most. If anyone else of this line would like to join in, please do or perhaps contribute to another line or not at all-your prerogative. I've been noticing that we don't seem to have any male descendants of Robert & Winnie Clayton being volunteered. Also we don't seem to have any descendants of early PA Kilgores or of the Spotsylvania Co VA line or Wake Co NC line. Thanks to Gail we do have Thomas Kilgore & Rebecca Lasley of Cecil Co MD represented (my apologies that I claimed they were in Chester Co MD in earlier messages-I always seem to want to confuse Cecil & Chester Co for some reason). This seems to cover most of the early Kilgores in America (not including the Joseph Killgore line of early Maine) unless someone knows of any other early line? Also, no one's hitting anyone up for money-so could those who aren't responding at least send in your lines to the list? I'm aware that at least one member of this list may be affected by Hurricane Ike and may not be getting any messages at this time because he may be without power and I hope all is well with him. I know he lives in Texas but am not sure where exactly. There's another member of the list also in Texas as well and I hope she's doing okay too. Vickie

    3. It's always possible-at this time it's assumed that your William Kilgore was the same William Kilgore who was listed in Orange Co NC in 1751-1754-then this Wm disappears and about the same time 1755, your Wm shows up in Augusta District GA-but this is supposition-we don't know if it's the same one. However, if he was, doesn't leave much time for him to have spent any time in SC -just passed through-although the area he lived in is very close to SC border. It never hurts to do a little research if that's possible though-you never know what might turn up. I am willing to make a reasonable contribution for Robert to take his test (especially since he and I are on the same line) once someone decides which company to use and how to make our contributions. 3. I have a LOT of Kilgore emails backup to be read yet. I had to make a decision whether to stay home today and read emails or take a absolutely beautiful drive over the continential divide from Chaffee Co. to Gunnison Co. to go fishing. I chose fishing and then when they weren't biting over the hill we came back and I took Jack to another one of my fishing holes and we got trout today and we did yesterday. The aspens are starting to change colors and the tundra above timberline had turned reddish brown. We will be heading south with the humming birds next week. I don't want to go back to that heat, I have so enjoyed myself in the high coountry. I ran into snow on 15 Aug on my way to Denver and the peaks all got snow the other day with not much of it leaving. I will work on my emails and see where I can help with this DNA questions etc. Not a very good list administrator but at least you kow that I am here. Gail

Maybe you can make a contribution for another volunteer and that way we can see if the lines are connected that would be a nice revelation if they are and where they are connected.
