Ramona, I found on "KY Vital Records micro-film"....rented from AGLL and supposedly this was filmed from the *original* records.... KIDDER, Nicholas Kenton s/o Luther KIDDER and Sarah CODY, born 7 April 1858 Bracken Co.,KY. I am almost certain that this is your William Nicholas KIDDER as the birth date fits.....but why would her name be listed as CODY? The one and only CODY connection I have found thus far is....... Sarah KIDDER d/o Luther KIDDER Sr. and Mary "Polly" [? maiden name]; born abt. 1819 and married Joseph CODY or CADY. Do you have comments on this....anything at all? Was this just an error or what? Hi Donna and All, Gramma lists one brother for Sara Sherwood named John Sherwood. But--in her Kidder Family Notes she lists Sara/Sarah as follows: Sara Sherwood/Sheridan. Also that Sara was known as Abagail and "Morning Star". Gramma wrote out our first family lines in fountain ink Christmas 1940; these she never changed from the original entries. She began a journal for further family research and these are where I have found the Sheridan information. I have searched the web this morning seeking any connection to the Sheridan or Sherwood families to the Kidder Family; I have been unable to find any information; but will keep trying. To complicate the search even more my Great Aunt Cecile Irene Kidder Daulton told me the Sherwood family adopted Abagail as a child; and she was of Native American Ancestry but she knew nothing of her Tribal Lineage. My purpose in this is to try and connect as many of the branches as possible. hello i am trying to find a link between mary jane brooks a young girl born near kalamazoo, michigan in 1857 and the family she lived with henry kidder (son of larnard) and his wife elizabeth woods 1870 warren co. illinois census. mary jane lived with them until she married william adams and again when she was widowed with two young daughters. susan adams who married william guild and alice adams who married ward clay. several years later she married aaron see a widower with many children and with him had one more frend higgins see, my grandfather. all i have on mary jane brooks is her parents names william brooks and maria parrish. thank you, carol thorpe thorpe@up.net marquette, michigan
