Good Monday Morning Everyone, This is from one of our New England Kidder Cousins who has done very good research on our family. She is only subbed to our Kidder Digest; but will read and reply to postings using the Digest. my great-grandmother was raised in the home of henry kidder (son of larnard) in warren co ill. her name was mary jane brooks (william adams - widowed, lived again with kidders until remarriage to aaron see) b. 1857 near kalamazoo, mi. (a year before birth certificates were issued so we don't know exactly where). there was a scandal involved either in her birth or in the reason she was raised in the kidder home. her mother was supposedly alive and living in st louis. mo. my grandparents were very tight-lipped about this and now i am hoping for some oral history, a family bible, or a journal that might put a niche in this brick wall. carol thorpe@up.net
Hi Sandy, I would think that Sutten Kidder was the father of Luther Kidder>father of William Nicholas Kidder. But I still have much research to do; and also I have not viewed the Census Records in the Scioto Co. Library closely. They have very good records on the Kidder Family; including military history. Until I can do more research I am going with Gramma' s Bible and family history notes and what more learned Kidder Researchers are helping me sort out regarding the Kidder line from Luther Kidder father of William Nicholas Kidder. I never thought finding and verifying one's lineage would be so time consuming and involve so many names and locations. I am sorry for the crooked lines; and this last entry must be the parents of William Nicholas Kidder? Does anyone agree; or is my reasoning wrong? In Gramma's Bible she lists William Nicholas' Siblings as: Brothers: Thomas--Alonzo--and Joseph Sisters: Paulliniae--Mallissa--and Abagail *Paulliniae's name is very faded; but I have studied the spelling and this seems to be correct*. This is the 4 households of Kidders I found in the Census. Thank You, Ramona
