Hi All... Romona , as to you talking to much...you could never talk to much. You have done a fantastic job of guiding and stimulating this group. I think I would speak for all when I say "THANK YOU". About the first lady into Kentucky. This was a sort of tongue in cheek type of thing but does provide food for thought. Accompaning Boones First group of men into Kentucky was a slave woman. I have seen no name given for her. In later years Boones son had a young slave he gave to Boone named Demming Coburn. He was apparently freed by Boone, married and had a family. He was Boones constant companion as long as Boone lived. Boone spent his latter years hunting, trapping and exploring in the company of Demming. Demmings Family was buried in the same cemetary as Boones family and Demming was buried beside Boone. I cant say, but think the chances are that Demming was the son of the woman that accompanied Boone into Kentucky. I dont have the Geneology records here at the moment but belive my ancestor who was with Boone was David Coburn. Don
