Sunbonnets: I have the little red-checked sunbonnet my brother wore as an infant 60 yrs ago. Mama made it to keep his head from getting sunburned. It is so cute, made just like the ladies' bonnets. I have another bonnet I made about 20 years ago. It has buttons that cause it to lay out flat when being ironed. My mother used to make her bonnets. All the elderly ladies in the neighborhood wore them for gardening and when they went out to pick poke.
