The Pantagraph                                       Bloomington, Illinois                                 McLean County July 15, 2000 Richard J. Trent DOWNS -- The memorial service of Richard J. Trent, 89, of Harlingen, Texas, formerly of Downs, will be at 10 a.m. July 29 at Pleasant Grove Church, rural Downs. The church is located two miles east on County Road 1000N at 2200 E. He died Tuesday (July 11, 2000) at Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen. Mr. Trent was born March 27, 1911, in Meade County, Ky., the son of Guy and Mary B. Trent. Survivors include his wife, Bessie P. Trent; three sons, Eldon Trent, Downs; Don Trent, Chillicothe; and David Trent, Herscher; one daughter, Mary A. Boyd, Littleton, Colo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His parents and one son, James Edward Trent, preceded him in death. Mr. Trent was a farmer for 45 years in Illinois. He was active in the community, serving on the Downs School Board. He also helped organize the Downs Volunteer Fire Department and served as a volunteer for a number of years.
