Is the Hatfield feud the only one involving McCoys in Kentucky? My great great grandfather, Frank aka F.M. and Francis, is supposed to have moved to Owen Co., KY in 1852 to escape a feud. However, the famous Hatfield feud was much later. My grandmother, Ida McCoy Tipton, told me that her family was involved in a feud and I just assumed it was the Hatfield feud. Frank McCoy's wife was Margaret Ball and I found his family on the 1870 census of Owen Co. on pg 235b. Frank 39, Margaret 37, Ruth 17, Madison 14, James 12, Alexander J. 8, Jacob 5, Mary E. 4; Robt G. 1 all born in Kentucky. I will be most appreciative of any information about feuds or these particular McCoys. Madison and his brother James were in Lavaca Co., TX on the 1880 census, both married in TX and died there.
