Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me. I found the record of my gggggrandparents' (Isaac Johnson & Betsy/Betty Burk) 1806 marriage bond in Washington Co. Ky. A David Johnson is listed on it as Isaac's guardian. What I was wondering was, at what age back then would you no longer need a parent or guardian to get married? I'm also curious if anyone might know how much the 50 pounds that was paid for the bond would be worth today. Thanks for your help. Roxanne
