Hello, I need some advice. I am trying to find the father of Golden Inman. I know according to census he was born in Kentucky in or about 1805. I do know that he married in Washington Kentucky on December 7 1830. I was reading at http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgs/ch_burned.htm that tax records in Kentucky are kept at the capital-- is this the state capital or county? Also in this report on rootsweb, it says that a male goes on the tax roll when he turns 21, so I am hoping that if I can locate the tax records, maybe in Washington County, for the years of 1820 -1822 I might be able to determine whose household he is taxed in? Now, does that make sense? Just where and how do I go about getting hold of these records? Any advice on this matter would sure be welcomed.
