THE PANTAGRAPH Bloomington, Illinois October 29, 2000 Valdene Stark LeROY -- Valdene Stark, 88, of Bloomington, formerly of LeRoy, died at 1:10 p.m. Friday (Oct. 27, 2000) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, the Rev. Bob Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to McLean County Nursing Home. She was born March 6, 1912, in West Liberty, Ky., the daughter of Jeff and Minnie Patrick Short. She married George Edward Stark on Oct. 29, 1939, in Bloomington. He died in Germany during World War II. She is survived by one son, Ronald (Jan) Stark, Bloomington; one sister, Nell Killion, LeRoy; three grandchildren; 6 stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two half sisters and two brothers. She worked in food service at ISU, Normal as a cook until she retired in 1978. She also worked at various restaurants in Bloomington. She also worked at Admiral Corp., Bloomington, Eureka Williamson, Bloomington and General Electric. She had attended LeRoy Christian Church.
