The Pantagraph August 29, 2000 Blooington, Illinois McLean County Thelma McIlvain FARMER CITY -- Thelma Miles McIlvain, 89, of Decatur and Farmer City, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 27, 2000) at Heritage Manor, Mount Zion. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brintlinger's Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Home, Carmi; or to the Osteoporosis Foundation. She was born April 30, 1911, at Fordsville, Ky., a daughter of Byron and Bertha Cheek Miles. She married Keith McIlvain on July 5, 1940, at Rolla, Mo. He died Jan. 22, 1994. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Williams Sprau, Decatur; and one sister, Vivian L. Wood, Champaign. Also surviving are one grandson, Rod Williams, Citrus Springs, Fla.; two granddaughters, Laura (R.D.) Whitman and Sarah (Charles) Ward, both of Lebanon, Pa.; great-grandchildren, R.D. Whitman Jr.; Corey Whitman, Benjamin Whitman, Andrew Whitman and Austin Christine Ward, all of Lebanon, Pa.; Dylan Williams and Liza Williams, both of Hamburg, Pa.; one special aunt, Annie Bishop, Cloverport, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Morris Miles Sr.; one infant sister; and one son-in-law, Carol Sprau. She was past president of Brush College PTA. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Farmer City, serving as secretary and Sunday school teacher. She had been past noble grand of Iantha Rebekah Lodge. ~DEBBIE AND RONNIE REDMOND~
