The Pantagraph August 28, 2000 Bloomington, Illinois McLean County Bernice M. Kohler LINCOLN -- Bernice M. Kohler, 80, of DeWitt County Nursing Home, Hallsville, formerly of Lincoln, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 26, 2000) at the nursing home. Her graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. There will be no visitation. Holland & Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 21, 1920, at Campbellsville, Ky., a son of Obie and Jessie May Brockman Spurling. She married Philip S. Kohler on Sept. 12, 1943, at St. Joseph, Mo. He survives in Lincoln. Other survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Jean Spurling Krotz, Lincoln; three sisters, Lucille Mallinson and Geneva Ingram, both of Lincoln; and Thelma Rehder, Keokuk, Iowa; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Carl Spurling, Merlin Spurling and James Patrick Spurling; four sisters, Elsie Snow, Leola Bosley, Hazel Sapp and Margarite; and two granddaughters. ~DEBBIE AND RONNIE REDMOND~
