Hi All I have copies of letters written from Adlai Ewing Stevenson to my husband's grandmother from 1979 - 1981. She is the granddaughter of James Perez Stevenson. Adlai writes "our grandfathers were brothers". they also chat about McLean Stevenson also being their third cousin. Here is what I have James Perez Stevenson (he was known as Perez Stevenson) b. 1831 in Kentucky. I don't know who his parents were. He married Julia R. Giles in MA in 1857. I have a search out for their marriage record in case it offers any more clues. Their children were 1. Addie Julia Stevenson b. 1858 in WI She married Frank W. Willet in ME and they settled in Brockton MA. 2. Mary Ann Stevenson b. 1860 in WI She married Aaron Dale in MA and they settled in NH. Could it be possible that James Perez Stevenson was the grandson of Nancy Young and James Stevenson, via one of their sons? Is anyone researching this family?
