How do you get information about marraiges that occured in the 1930's..... if you live out of state? Any help appreciated. Trying to find out if my father changed his name from Whorton to Jones sometime between 1930 and 1948..I can't find birth records for James E.(Edward) Jones or James E. Whorton born 11-5-1913, Smithland Livingston Co. KY Parents Lee Edward Whorton(or Jones) and Rosa (Rosie)E Campbell. I have Census records for 1920 and 1930, he is living with Lee Edward Whorton and mother Rosa. James and Lee both worked in a Quary. Family legend is that they were both teamsters.(drove mules). His siblings were Adeline b.1916 d.2000, Nanie or Nancy, Fred(maybe Alfred), and Melvyn Whorton b.1929.Trying to find marriage of James E. Whorton or James E. Jones to first wife(unknown) who died in child birth abt. 1936-1940 or later? Married Juanita Roberts 1948 in AR Jaunita is still living age 79.
