Anyone have any info on a Fort Boonsboro?? ..Hart..or GASS ?? any info is appreciated, thanks, NS [fr my cuz] according to my grandfather and letter , he states Fort Boonsboro for Daniel--reading a old diary someone had posted, they mention, (this involves quite a few of these and I put pieces together) # 1-- A indian attack took place in 1782 where folks in fort witnessed the killing of a captain Hart within sight of fort #2--found where corn fields are mentioned outside of fort in another letter which I suppose is quite common # 3---a Dr. HINDS was also at this Fort but can't locate years when he was there? ----Now here are my thoughts??? ---if Daniel GRASS 2 1/2 (and who knows on this?) and this date of 1782 attack would put him born about 1779? [but records we found in PA say 1776] --this is about the time our HYNES came into this area---do you suppose this might be where the confusion comes in on our Dr. HINDS / Hynes. who might have been in Fort Boonsboro at this time---a couple of things add up here and age of Daniel has been a question ---I do think that this is where our Dr. confusion might be on a Dr. Hynes! more on Boonsboro diary and they also had a Indian seige late 1778-early 1779 ---a Mrs. Gass killed and three girls taken--never heard from again--gave last names of girls but slipped my mind now cuz---all three from same family--
