I have searched for years for anything on the family of my gr. gr. grandfather James S. Cross born in DeWitt Co. Illinois. I knew he had one brother, John J. Grandpa Cross kept good records in the family bible so I had wonderful information on all his children. I just recently found his parents, Benjamin and Sarah Cross in the DeWitt Co. 1850 census. Benjamin was born somewhere in Kentucky around 1806. Sarah was born in Kentucky around 1806. John J. was born in Kentucky on 26 Jun 1827. James S and other children were born in DeWitt Co., Illinois. I am hoping that someone will recognize these names and give me a lead as to the county they may have come from. I have information to the present day that I will share with anyone that can use it.
