Is there information that Joseph OATES Jr. traveled from North Carolina to Kentucky for Land Warrents in Christian, Mecklenburg, or Todd County Ky. There does not seem to be an mention of him in Bladen County N.C. after 1776. His son Carraway is on the tax list for 1786. Did he travel to these places. He had relations in Mecklenburgh County Ky. after 1800. His first cousin Jesse OATES was forced to leave N.C. and settle in Mecklenburgh Co. Perhaps Joseph settled in Mecklenburgh.
