    1. [KY] KY land warrant question
    2. William Meacham
    3. I have found in the archives recently put on line by the Kentucky Land Office a military warrant granting my ancestor 200 acres for 3 years service in the Virginia Continental Line. It is dated June 17, 1784. Previously I had seen in the Library of Virginia a voucher by an officer certifying this ancestor's service of three years, dated June 5, 1784. It was persumably part of his application for land, but there was no land warrant in the files. What if anything is indicated by the fact that the warrant is now held in the files of the state of Kentucky? Was the land ever granted to him or his son, or was the warrant simply moved with land files when Kentucky was made a state? His son did receive a grant of 200 acres "south of Green River" in 1799, followed by other land grants in 1807, but there is nothing in the existing grants to indicate that any of them are due to the Revolutionary War service of his father. 1. [KY] Merging FTM files
    2. Merging or combining file with Family Tree Maker is covered in the section "Combining Files" in the FTM manual and in the "help" file on the tool bar at the tool of the program screen. The information in the help section is vertually the same as what's in the manual. I haven't done it myself as I think I would get too confused as to where I am on my tree! I do know that it is suggested that you back up each file before you begin in case you don't like the way things turn out so you can go back to the way they were. Good luck. Janet

    1. [KY] Look up request
    2. I am trying to break through one of the may dead ends in my efforts to discover all of the descendants of my immigrant g-g-grandparents. Like most of us, I lack the ability to visit every state vital records office personally so I am asking for your help. Could someone please check the state register for the death of George LAUSCHER? DOB Sept. 1885 in WI DOD After 1944 - place unknown George's parents were Hubert LAUSCHER and Mary Ann STOFFELS. George is not listed on the Social Security death index. He divorced his wife and left his home in MI about 1934 when his youngest son was 3. He is now 70 and never heard from or saw his father again. Since I am not a regular subscriber to all state lists, if you have any information that could help me discover George's death date and resting place, would you please e-mail me personally. In advance, thank you. Janet Mihelich

    3. Need parentage of Nancy W McWilliams, who married George Nutterfield, 6-24-1803, in Shelby Co., Ky. I Have her Name as Nancy Steppe Williams from family papers of Son Goalson Nutterfield, and the record shows Nancy W.McWilliams. Which is right?(What does the W stand for?) Also, a Nancy McWilliams is shown marrying Andrew Black 4-2-1801, and a Robert Simonton 8-25-1802... Are these 2 different women, or are they all, one and the same. 1. [KY] Featherstone Family
    2. Good morning I am searching for information on the Featherstone Family that originated from Charlotte Co. Va to Ky. ELIZABETH FEATHERSTONE , my 2d Great-grandmother, was born in Charlotte Co. VA in 1783. She was married to HEZEKIAN RUSSELL, in Jessamine Co. Ky in 1810. She died 5-26-1863 in Jessamine Co. She was the daughter of CARLUS FEATHERSTONE. There were a number of Featherstones that settled in the vicinity of Fayette-Jess. Co. They were members of South Elkhorn Christian Church. I would like to make the connection with other members of her family. It is unknown when the family arrived in Ky. Any info would be appreciated. Bob Stone, Ca
