Hi folks, Remember me? I'm the web site manager of Surnames of Kentucky. As I told you early last spring we started a Kentucky Surname Registry that networks all Kentucky researchers together by the surname that they are researching. The So I called it Surnames of Kentucky Network, or SoKY for short. Well, It has been a monster hit. I was entering in over 20 entries a day, until I had to go to the hospital, and then lighting took out my whole system the night I got out. By that time I was 800 entries behind, so I bought some BBBS boards that post your entries in real time. That means once you hit the enter button you are listed. No more waiting for me to post them for you. *smile* For all of you who already posted at on the old system I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please post again. Please read this before you post. The boards are set up to display names alphabetically, so please read this carefully Post only names that begin with the name of the board that you are at I.E. Adams = the A Board. If you are trying to trace one person, instead of post their name as John Adams, post it as Adams John. This makes it a lot easier for people research that name to find your post. Another good idea is if the name/s you are researching are in one or two counties of Kentucky you can add that to your subject line along with the name. I.E. Adams- Magoffin/Breathitt Counties. The page can be found at http://www.skyn.net/ky/ I ask that if you have a Kentucky webpage to please link back to us. You can just make a simple link or get a graphic from http://www.geocities.com/baicon/thankyou.html I will be more then happy to return the link. Sincerely, Paul Bailey P.S. We have been around for five years, and will be here long after any copycat pages are long gone. ===== Magoffin Co. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kymagoff/ Magoffin County Historical Society http://www.rootsweb.com/~kymhs/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I have a Unity C. PATTERSON b. 19 Sep 1802 in VA{ I believe}....she was living in Mercer Co KY....as she met and married her husband there 10 Dec 1822....Noah Gilpin HAYDEN. I have been trying without much luck to connect her to a PATTERSON family that was in Mercer Co.KY at the time..... A William PATTERSON was the surety on her marriage records....leading me to believe that this was a relative....Father, brother or Uncle?? Her age and place of birth with have been right to have been a daughter of Armstead PATTERSON of Mercer Co.KY, but she is not listed anywhere as such.......thinking his son Wm. was the one who signed her papers?? Then I was thinking that possibly Armstead could be her Uncle and maybe she had moved to Mercer Co. with Armstead's family for some reason?? Too many unanswered questions.....If someone out there has knowledge of UNITY and her parentage I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks so much, N.J.Skinner White in MI.
