My parents EVERETT DANIEL HOLLAND, b Athens Cty, OH, 9 July 1906 and LEONA BLANCH SALSBERRY, b Marion, IN, 1 Oct 1908, "crossed the bridge from Ohio and got married in Kentucky". My problem is that there are several bridges...I previously contacted the Kentucky Dept for Libraries and Archives, but they only checked Kenton County without success. 2. carlean butler
3. Hello List I posted this quiry a few weeks ago and received no responses. However, since then I have obtained a few more facts (names and dates). I hope the added information will be helpful. Is there anyone who can do a lookup for me on SUTTERFIELD or TANNER. I am looking for the parents of Edward Hamilton and Angie (Tanner) Sutterfield) who are my great-grandparents. I know they were in the Clinton, Kentucky, area when their children were born. They later moved to Mississippi -- maybe around 1900. Any help on these families will be greatly appreciated. Again, I am looking for the parents of Edward Hamilton Sutterfield and his wife, Angie (Tanner) Sutterfield. The information I have for them and their children follows. I do have more details on their children than I have noted here. Edward Hamilton Sutterfield b. July 16, 1842 in Kentucky d. January 14, 1932 in Hinds County, Mississippi Married: Angie Tanner (no date of marriage) (no information on the Tanner family line) b. 1. [KY] Leonard Sandford Brown KY Census Lookup 1850
2. Marcia Gettelfinger
3. Hello! I was wondering if anyone has access to the 1850 census. Leonard Sandford Brown was born in Ky in 1837. By the 1860 census he was in Clark Co. IN I am trying to find out where he is from and who his parents are. They were also born in KY according to 1880 IN census. I am wondering also if Sandford was a family surname. Maybe there were some Sandfords living close by. I am assuming they would have lived in the northern part of KY, but I do not know, Clark Co. IN is on the Ohio River. In 1860 Clark Co. IN census Leonard is living with James Brown 25 b. Ky. He was married into the Rippy family from Sumner Co. Tenn. Thank you! Marcia

1. [KY] McGahey or Manan
2. Kevin & Jill Barry & Family
3. Hi! I'm new to the list and hoping to find some help with a brick wall. My gggg-grandfather was Andrew MCGAHEY. He was born January 1784 in Kentucky, exact place unknown. He married Elizabeth MANAN in Franklin county Indiana on 1 January 1829. Elizabeth was born 4 November 1808 in Kentucky, exact place unknown. I do not know if they knew each other in Kentucky, or if they moved to Indiana with or without family and then met there. Franklin county is of course right on the border, so who knows? After marriage, they settled in Hancock county, New Palestine, IN. They raised several girls, only one of whom I have traced: my ggggrandmother Jane McGahey ARTHUR. They had at least three boys, all of whom died either as children or as young adults with no offspring. In anything rings a bell for someone, I'd love to hear from you. Also, given the age difference, I've wondered if Andrew might have had a previous wife, perhaps in Kentucky? I do know that in all the records I find for him, the name is spelled MCGAHEY, not McGaughey, or other variants which seem to be more common. Only in the marriage index is it spelled McGahee, but that index seems to have a lot of typos too. So far I haven't found any records with the McGahey spelling in Kentucky that predate the 1830's or 1840's, so no definite links. On the chance that naming patterns might come into play, Andrew & Elizabeth had: Jane James Michael Mary Sarah A. Margaret Andrew S. Jr. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. 3. Hi List! I have an old photograph of my gg grandfather ROBERT WESLEY PRINCE b. 1848 d. 1908. (I'd say the picture was taken in at least 1878. He has on sometype of unusual clothing and I was hoping someone out there might be able to tell me what it symbolized. He is sitting in a chair with his musket beside him, He has on a tall hat surrounded by upright feathers, and his jacket and pants have sometype of fringe. I can email the picture to whoever might now what this costume was. It is really interesting. Lee-Anne Smithson Dahms New Gloucester, Maine [email protected]

2. Dick Carter
3. My John Carter Jr,born 1-2-1813, has been my BRICK WALL for about 30 years... He married somewhere in Ky, or Indiana about 1828-1830, an Eliza NUTTERFIELD/NUTTERFEE... He had a Brother JOB/JOBE who was deaf... Have been looking for his father for 30+ years...He was my gg grandfather. Any help would be appreciated...Eliza, I believe, was born in Shelby Ky,daughter of George and Nancy McWilliams NUTTERFIELD, But, who knows...One of my correspondants jokingly, I think, suggested that he, along with her John Carter, were deposited here as adults, with no ancestors, from an alien planet... I am not sure I go along with that, But, it is a better theory than I have been able to come up with... It would explain a lot... Dick Carter [email protected]

I Have her Name as Nancy Steppe Williams from family papers of Son Goalson Nutterfield, and the record shows Nancy W.McWilliams. Which is right?(What does the W stand for?) Also, a Nancy McWilliams is shown marrying Andrew Black 4-2-1801, and a Robert Simonton 8-25-1802... Are these 2 different women, or are they all, one and the same. 2. Nancy Trice
3. Hello. I am the site/list coordinator for the ROOTWALKER genealogical website for northern middle Tennessee. Since many of our ancestors moved back and forth across the Tennessee/Kentucky state line, I thought it would be appropriate to announce the ROOTWALKER site and the researcher's mail list to people in southern Kentucky. The ROOTWALKER region covers the 26 counties of northern middle Tennessee. These counties are shown on a map on the website. The ROOTWALKER website address is; http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnnmid/index.htm Rootwalker Genealogy Pages for Northern Middle TN--Home Page There is a place on the first page that the above address takes you to that says to sign up "here" for the researcher's mail list. Another way to sign up for the researcher's mail list is to send an email to; [email protected] Type one single word into the body of the text of the email. That one single word is SUBSCRIBE . Do not add any other words into the body of the text. Then, the computer will recognize this single word as a command and automatically subscribe you to the mail list. Thanks, Stan Magnesen ROOTWALKER site/list coordinator
