Currently, there is no = other magazine that publishes solely for our region, and let's face it - = Southern genealogy is unique! Southern Footprints features articles on Southern Studies (how-to = articles), Dixieland Resources (with emphasis on specifically Southern = resources), and Southern Library Leaflets (detailed focus on a library = and its holdings below the Mason-Dixon line).=20 Departments within the magazine are: Southwardly Stories (do you have a = 'colorful' ancestor? Share your story here), Southern Stumpers (have a = problem you can't solve? Share your problem with the membership for = group brainstorming!), Southern Online, and certainly not last - = Southern Queries! As a subscriber, you will receive 4 issues of Southern Footprints = Magazine per year. You may place as many expanded queries, free of = charge during your subscription, as you wish. You will also be eligible = to participate in all quarterly contests or drawings. Annual = subscription rate is $24.00. Upon receipt of your subscription, you will be sent a welcoming letter = and a subscription card showing when your subscription ends. No need to = 'decode' your mailing label! Also enclosed will be query forms (three, = but feel free to copy them!) for ease in submitting queries - the = lifeline for Southern research. No need to use a magnifying glass either = - the queries will be printed large enough to read and with all the = information provided by the writer (copyright belongs to the writer). Southern Footprints covers the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, = Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, = Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, = Virginia, and West Virginia. With the demise of Southern Queries, the retirement of Family Puzzlers, = and the cancellation of query publications by Heritage Quest, it is = increasingly difficult for Southern researchers to connect. Many people = are turning to the Internet. However, many researchers, with 30 years = (or more) of research at their fingertips, will never be on the = Internet.=20 The goal of Southern Footprints is to unite all Southern researchers = with a home for all of our queries and our special interests. 2. JOHNSON GRAVES IN TRIGG COUNTY, KENTUCKY by [email protected] My husband and I found a graveyard that needed some grooming, located in southern Trigg County, Kentucky near a community known as Linton. From Cadiz, Kentucky, drive south toward Tennessee on Highway 139, also known as South Road, then west on Highway 164 until you come to a gravel road called the Old Dover Road, where you should turn left. About one mile up this road you will see another gravel road going up a steep hill and this goes to the graveyard. The four graves we found were in good condition for their age. The names and dates are: Nancy C. JOHNSON DOB 20 June 1850, DOD 31 October 1931 Truman M. JOHNSON 1881-1960 Leroy JOHNSON Vol. Mounted Inf., Civil War 15 October 1840, 7 July 1923 Ida Ann JOHNSON 27 December 1871, 3 December 1896 I hope this helps someone. I would be willing to make pictures of these if someone needs them. * * * * *

    1. [KY] Thomas BALDWIN m. Christian WEBSTER....1790 MD
    2. I'm searching for any information about Thomas BALDWIN b. ca1770 MD {probably Anne Arundel Co.} m. Christian WEBSTER b. ?.......they were married 23 Jul 1790 in Prince Georges Co.MD. Thomas BALDWIN's family lived in Anne Arundel Co.MD {James BALDWIN b. ca1750 A.A.Co.MD & Sarah RAWLINGS b. ca1749 A.A.Co.MD.}...... So far I have no family information on Christian WEBSTER. I have a gap between 1790-1810 census on this line.....I know that Thomas BALDWIN was living in Nelson Co.KY and was on the census there 1810-1820.....at this point there is some question as to whether Christian might have died and Thomas remarried possibly to a Margaret Sparr? Thomas's children migrated to Owen Co.IN, but records would show that Thomas most likely did not make that move, and I can find no proof of his death either in Nelson Co.KY. or Owen Co.IN. There is some speculation that his wife was still alive at this time and could have been living with their son {James} as found on the 1830 Owen Co.IN census, but I have found no proof of her death either, but an older female was not listed living with any of the children after that 1830 census. Any information on this line would be very welcome, will share what information I have on any of the people mentioned above. Thanks so much, N.J.Skinner White in MI.
