    1. [KY] Re: Three Islands on the Ohio River
    2. Bill Davis
    3. Norma Adams has pointed me to this information: Adams County History: Adams County is the third oldest county in the state of Ohio. It was formed on July 10, 1797 by proclamation of Winthorp Sargent, Secretary of the old Northwest Territory, acting on behalf of Governor Arthur St. Clair. Manchester was settled on the Ohio River at a point known to the early inhabitants as Three Islands. This area was a well known landmark on the river and it was here that many pioneers met their death. The river channels between the islands were narrow and so provided an excellent place for Indians to ambush white settlers on their way down the river. Manchester, Ohio is a upriver (east) of Maysville, Kentucky. 1. [KY] BARTLETT/ARMSTRONG marriage, 1865-1877
    2. Russell K. Brown
    3. Can SKS help me please. I'm looking for a marriage of Charles Gratiot BARTLETT to Marie Louise ARMSTRONG somewhere in Kentucky, probably between 1865 and 1877. Charles G. Bartlett was an Army officer. In the 1880 census of Dakota Territory, his wife was shown as Marie Louise, age 33, born Kentucky. They had two sons, b. 1878 and 1880. Marie Louise Armstrong Bartlett is buried at West Point with her husband's family. Her vital dates are 1847-1888. Bartlett's service record indicates that he was posted in Kentucky 1865-1866 and 1871-1872. If someone with access to one of the state-wide Kentucky marriage registers can do a lookup on this marriage for me, I would appreciate it greatly. I need to know the date and place of the marriage and the names of the bride's parents. Thanks in advance for any help. Russell

    1. [KY] McCoy feuds.
    2. Sybil Chapman
    3. Is the Hatfield feud the only one involving McCoys in Kentucky? My great great grandfather, Frank aka F.M. and Francis, is supposed to have moved to Owen Co., KY in 1852 to escape a feud. However, the famous Hatfield feud was much later. My grandmother, Ida McCoy Tipton, told me that her family was involved in a feud and I just assumed it was the Hatfield feud. Frank McCoy's wife was Margaret Ball and I found his family on the 1870 census of Owen Co. on pg 235b. Frank 39, Margaret 37, Ruth 17, Madison 14, James 12, Alexander J. 8, Jacob 5, Mary E. 4; Robt G. 1 all born in Kentucky. I will be most appreciative of any information about feuds or these particular McCoys. Madison and his brother James were in Lavaca Co., TX on the 1880 census, both married in TX and died there. 1. [KY] James Mollihorne Descendents Molohon Reunion
    2. Buddy & Jane Thompson
    3. To all Molohon descendents, A reunion has been planned for all of the descendents of James Mollihorne, Sr. He was the first Molohon pioneer to Kentucky in 1785. He died in the year 1801, so the year 2001 marks the 200th anniversary of his death. His descendents have been found in numerous KY counties and throughout the United States. A few relatives got together and decided that after 200 years, it is time for his descendents to get together to share family lines, family stories, family pictures, and have a geneologically grand time. We have spent months tracking down as many Molohons and their addresses as possible. If you know of some, please do not assume that we know about them. Please share the information with them concerning the reunion and let us know who and where they are. Please send either an email or snail mail request for a registration form to Jane Molohon Thompson 1458 Alton Station Road Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 [email protected] Please send me your email address so that you may receive reunion updates and your mailing address in order for us to send you a packet with hotel and other information concerning the reunion. Hope to see lots of Molohons there!!! Jane Molohon Thompson, Gayle Cassidy Ellingsworth, Ruth Smith Cassidy, and Charles Richard "Dick" Molohon
