Good morning everyone, I just found out this morning that my grandaunt, my grandfathers last living sibling, passed away yesterday at her home in Leavenworth, Crawford Co., IN. Sallie B. Floyd Carver Chandley East was born 09MAY1914 in Meade Co., KY, the daughter of John Floyd (Murphy) and Lillie Florence Fenix. She was the seventh of eight children, the eighth is my grandfather, the last of this generation of Floyd's. Sallie was married to Herbert Carver in Meade Co., KY and they had 5 children. Russell, Joanne, Charles, Roy Dean, Harold Ray. In her lifetime she buried two of her children, Russell and Roy Dean and lost her first husband in a boating accident on the Ohio River. She later married Charles Chandley. She also lost this husband, he committed suicide. Much later, after her children were grown, she married Charles East. Sallie is survived by her husband, Charles East, two sons; Harold Ray Carver and Charles Carver; one daughter Joanne Quebberman. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She was 84 years old. I've spent the morning on the phone with my father talking about Aunt Sallie. The many wonderful stories being told are something alot of us don't realize would be interesting to our descendents, something they would love to read and pass on to their children, and could inspire them and others to write things down. Even those that seem insignificant to you would be cherished by your grandchildren. Thanks for letting me talk a bit..... Dee Kentuckiana Genealogy http://www.aye.net/~dee1234/
