To Clara and others interested in doing research at the John Hay Center in Salem, IN, as a member, I can tell you that the center is closed on Sunday and Monday. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., EST, not EDT. The last time I was there the charge for using the library to do research was $3.00 per day, unless you are a member. An individual may join the Washington County Historical Society, Inc. for $10.00/year and use the library for free. This is a WONDERFUL source of information, not only for Washington County, but for surrounding counties! Martha Bowers and her staff are helpful and pleasant! Have fun! Mary Jo
