Diane, I do research on the "Newkirk" family and plan to start a publication of "Newkirk Notes", a newsletter on Newkirks starting the 1st of Jan 1999. I have a Malinda Newkirk, daughter of Cornelius Newkirk and Elizabeth Powell m May 19, 1794 in Clark Co In. Malinda married James Briley in Crawford Co. I have that he was born in North Carolina.
