Thanks to all of you who responded to my query about the 1909 house numbers change. As I understand it, in 1909 the city of Lousiville decided to re-number many houses to make the pattern more consistent from street to street. However, due to a lightning strike last nite I will be slower than usual following up on your excellent suggestions. The hit took out my computer, and assorted electronic gadgets that we have kind of taken for granted. Like telephones and answering machine, and t.v.'s. I did have my familytreemaker on a back-up disk. The hit was pretty strong but the worst went into the ground. It hit an antenna that was grounded. So I am happy that we and our home are okay. Just miss my computer. Much more than the television. Thanks again and I will be back in touch when this mess is straightened out. Oh, this computer is a make-shift arrangement. Another blessing.
