Looking for parents of MATILDA RODEN who was born abt. 1819, IN. Census records for 1880 indicate her father was born in IN and her mother was b. in SC. Her first husband was WILLIAM B. ROLL, who she m. 10 Aug 1840, Harrison Co., IN. Her age was then proven by a JAMES THOMPSON. William B. Roll was the son of John and Susannah (Swank) Roll who had married in Hardin Co., KY. Matilda and William had three children in IN, then next show up in the 1856 Nebraska State Census, Nemaha Co. William d. in Buchanon Co., MO. Matilda married 2nd, 1875-1880, JOHN SEARS and they show up in the 1880 census at Bethany twp., Osborne Co., KS. The SEARS went up to Ravalli Co., Montana, and Matilda is buried in the Corvallis Cemetery near John Sears. Her headstone calls her EMMA TILDA.
