Marsha, This really helps! My ancestor, Mathias MUELLER / MILLER, was in Washington County sometime between 1853 (emigrated to US) and 1856 (bought land in Perry County, IN). He was German and probably Catholic. Since there wasn't much of a German or Catholic community in the area, that may explain why he moved on to Perry County, IN.
