Hello to everyone, I not a new member of the list but I've been just reading along, and decided to try posting the surnames I'm researching and see if anyone else is acquainted with these families. The WRIGHTS came to Harrison County, IN from Nelson County, KY. Prior to that, they were in Frederick County, MD and may have lived for a short time in Fayette County, PA. Ely WRIGHT, son of Joseph WRIGHT and Rebecca? m. Phebe HARRISON, dau. of William HARRISON and ? (mar. lic. Frederick Co., MD 2 Dec, 1784) Ely WRIGHTS's will was dated 9 Sept., 1813 and was probated in Harrison County on 2 Oct., 1813. Phebe's will was dated 30 Aug,. 1814 and probated in Harrison County 30 Jun., 1815. Children named as heirs in both wills: Jonathan, Eli, jr., Reuban, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Joel, Joseph, Mary (Polly). Executor: son, Jonathan; Witnesses: John George PFRIMMER and George POPE. Have information on children's dates of birth, marriages, etc. as well as following generations. Also some information on siblings and parents of Ely and Phebe. The BROWNS came to Crawford and Harrison Counties from KY around 1839. Three of their children married WRIGHTS and moved into Meade County, KY. Samuel BROWN, son of ? and ? of Virginia m. Elizabeth Otten, dau. of ? and ? of Georgia. Their children were: John, Pleasant, Laban, Bernetta, Luzetta, Clarissa, Jane, James H., Sarah Ellen, William P. and Samuel. Have information on some of the children's birthdates and marriages and succeeding generations. Have a good souvenir sketch of Laban Brown and his death notice from the "Corydon Democrat" dated Wednesday, May 4, 1898. Names associated by marriage to the WRIGHTS and BROWNS are: ALLEN, BLAIR, CONRAD, FRANK, GILMORE, KIRKHAM, PFRIMMER, RANDALL.
