Still searching for info regarding the family of John William Batman (b. abt 1838), usually goes by just William. He married abt 1856 in Louisville to Sarah J (maybe Risinger) and they had at least one child Mary Ellen Batman (b.8-17-1857) William is listed in 1880 census with wife Clara "unknown" and 3 children: Charles (age 7), Maggie (age 3) and Edward (age 9 mo.). Since Sarah Batman did not die until 1922 in Louisville, it is assumed that she and William were divorced prior to 1875.
